About
ADHD Club is a club about ADHD for students at Clark College, made to help connect people and enable members to share experiences with others. FAQs
What is ADHD?
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a developmental disorder characterized by an ongoing pattern of one or more of the following types of symptoms:
- Inattention, such as having difficulty paying attention, keeping on task, or staying organized
- Hyperactivity, such as often moving around (including during inappropriate times), feeling restless, or talking excessively
- Impulsivity, such as interrupting, intruding on others, or having trouble waiting one’s turn
It is common for people to show these behaviors some of the time. However, for people with ADHD, the behaviors are frequent and occur across multiple situations, such as at school, at home, at work, or with family and friends.

What if I don't have ADHD?
That's okay! We welcome allies and people with ADHD-like symptoms as well. Both neurotypical and neurodivergent people can join.
What if I can't make it to the meetings? 😞
That's okay too! You can still join our Microsoft Teams group or follow our Bluesky account to get updates and communicate with the rest of the club. You might still be able to attend an event!
What do meetings include?
Meetings usually have packaged snacks, (trivia, card, video)games, and discussion about ADHD, people's interests, and stories! You should be able to connect and share experiences with other people.
What's the logo?
It's the ADHD neurodiversity butterfly symbol (made by ADHD Grrl!) placed on top of a silhouette of Clark College's YouTube channel logo.
The accepted neurodiversity symbol is a rainbow infinity symbol:

This symbol is, however, most strongly associated with people with Autism Spectrum Disorder. As someone with ADHD I was looking for something to represent me and positive attitudes to ADHD, decided to combine this with the symbolism of a butterfly and designed the image you see at the top.
The ADHD neurodiversity butterfly keeps the basic figure-of-eight shape, representing neurodiversity as a whole, but with and ADHD-centric butterfly twist. If you like it, there are several versions [...] I am releasing these images free of any copyright, and you’re welcome to use them as you wish[...]!

Finally, I’m putting together a Zazzle web shop of ADHD-positive merchandise featuring the butterfly – there are only a few basic items at present, but I’ll add more over time! Profits from this will go to an ADHD charity, though I have yet to decide which one (got a suggestion? Let me know!).

Where was this club last term? 🤨
You might've not seen us in the fall quarter because we only had one meeting! It turns out, starting a club is a lot of work... But we consistently meet now in the winter term!
Why use Microsoft Teams instead of something like Discord?
We're actually working to start using Discord instead of Microsoft Teams, as the latter is much harder to use and has privacy concerns.
Events
We plan to have events outside of our regular meetings in the future! Check back here, in our Microsoft Teams group, or on Bluesky for updates.
